Arizona will forever have my heart. Everytime we visit I cannot rave enough about the beauty and the rich culture there. This time around we went for my best friend's wedding and only stayed 3 days but it was one of the best trips we have had in awhile.
On the first day, we left from Salt Lake City, Utah at around 6 a.m. where it took us about 12 hours (with traffic included) to get to the Gilbert, Arizona area. We got there around 6 p.m and got ready for the following day..... the wedding! I didn't get any great photos from the wedding but these from our self timer! My dress is fromboohoo and it was more than perfect for such a joyous occasion.
HORSESHOE BEND:
The next day was 'Camp Day' and we knew we had to set our course. We left around 9 a.m from the Gilbert area and drove 5 hours to Paige, Arizona. Paige is a relatively small town with so much tourism and history. Less than 30 minutes from Paige, is a place called Horseshoe Bend which, let me say now, is so worth seeing.
You first get there and it's a little bit of a hike but again it's well worth it. Admission is free as well! The view is nothing like anything else I have ever seen and it's honestly kind of scary at first because there is no railing but it definitely let's you take a memorable photo.
CAMPING ON THE ARIZONA/UTAH BORDER:
After Horseshoe Bend we tried to find some free camping spots near Paige using this website. After about an hour of searching we finally found our location near the Utah/Arizona border using the coordinates on the site. We found a dirt road and set up camp. It was a relatively good spot and we didnt really hear the main road at night We also tried Cajun Rice & Beans camp food (my first time) which wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
BRYCE CANYON NATIONAL PARK:
On our final day we decided to stop at Bryce Canyon on our way home, which was so breathtaking. We entered the park and came at the right time because it was snowing pretty hard and thank goodness we had a 4x4 car in those moments. Although it was snowy we got around just fine and caught some pretty impressive views.
Bryce Canyon is really nothing like the other National Parks we have visited because of the beautiful rock formations that are all around. The bright orange tones really come through in photos. We can't wait to visit in the Summer to see nature really come to life. After visiting the park we went to the town closest to the park and ate breakfast theCowboy's Buffet and Steakhouse which is just a regular restaurant during the Winter. Breakfast was really yummy and the service was great. Overall it was a great trip and we will definitely be coming back to visit all these places again! - J.

Lately life has been busy with work and school so whenever we find a chance to go explore we take advantage. Sunday we packed up our cameras and headed for the mountains.
If you ever make your way to Idaho, The Mesa Falls area is highly recommend to visit. I love visiting this area since it's a little closer to home than going to Yellowstone or Jackson Hole. There are so many beautiful spots to take pictures at and you can really take in the views. This time that we went, we were so surprised to see snow especially since it hasn't quite reached home yet. We absolutely love seeing the views in this part of Idaho and the long windy roads that remind you why you why you love the outdoors so much. During this next week, we are gearing up for so much travel from places like Las Vegas, Virginia, New York and so many other places! We have been lying low for a couple months now since the wedding but we are so excited to get back on the road and see what adventures await. Stay tuned. -Hyrum & J.
